Setting up the Kiosk
- Open the Item Detail page for the unit (e.g., "Conference Room A").
- Click the ⋯ menu on the unit card and select Kiosk.
- Copy the generated URL and open it on the tablet you've mounted near the room.
- Lock the browser into kiosk/full-screen mode for a clean display.
Kiosk display
- Status band — Large color-coded status: Available (green), In Use (accent), Reserved Soon (yellow), Unavailable (gray).
- Day timeline — An hourly view of today's bookings with a current-time indicator.
- Google Calendar events — Displayed alongside Werp™ bookings in a distinct color if integration is configured.
Actions from the Kiosk
| Action | When available | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| New Booking | Always (unless unavailable) | Opens a form to create a new booking with an optional name and title. |
| Extend | When a booking is currently active | Extends the end time by 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes (or a custom amount). |
| End Now | When a booking is currently active | Sets the end time to the current time, freeing the room immediately. |
A day in the conference room
9:00 AM — Tablet shows "Available". Alex walks up, taps New Booking, enters her name and a 45-minute block. The display changes to "In Use until 9:45 AM".
10:00 AM — A Google Calendar "All-hands" event appears with the Google G badge. Extend and End Now are not available — it's a read-only Google Calendar event. Changes must be made in Google Calendar.
2:30 PM — An existing booking ends early. Alex taps End Now. The room shows "Available" immediately for the next person.
Security note
The Kiosk URL is a secret token. Anyone who has the URL can view the schedule and create/extend/end bookings. To revoke access (e.g., if the URL is shared accidentally), go to the unit detail page and regenerate the Kiosk URL. The old URL will immediately stop working.
